Intuition
For our 10-year anniversary, we decided to honor that inner voice that told us to pursue ferrofluid as a new artistic medium. The "lightbulb moment" is appropriately materialised in physical form. When activated, the sculpture mirrors the fluidity of ideas bouncing back and forth in your mind, some brighter than others.
BASE
The PCB is carefully wired by hand, using lead-free solder. The board is firmly mounted inside the base by screws. A single 9v battery illuminates three powerful LEDs the moment the bulb is placed onto the base and instantaneously shuts off when the bulb is removed. Three solid Red Oak blocks pancaked on top of one another make up the base. The bottom block is configured to swing open for battery replacement.
BULB
The bulb is a 1:1 scale replica of a classic incandescent light bulb. Made of thick glass, complete with a brass-colored cap with treads. A powerful magnet is embedded near the top of the bulb, and functions as a liquid dimmer. Simply lift the ferrofluid to the embedded magnet and the sculpture emanates more light.
MAGNETIC STYLUS
The magnetic stylus is a genuine retro lamp socket packed with neodymium magnets. When not in use, you can safely store the stylus by screwing it on top of the bulb. A smaller second magnet made of Red Oak is included, giving you the ability to bounce ferrofluid back and forth.
LEATHER MICROFIBER STRAP
A beautifully hand-worked accessory for your display. But there's more to it than just its rugged good looks. The inside is microfiber-lined for convenient removal of fingerprints. Simply swoop up and down for squeaky clean glass.

The combination of EDU grade ferrofluid in our world renowned suspension liquid helps us create top quality ferrofluid chambers which are devoid of any foreign particles and degrading which is a big problem with lower grade ferrofluid displays.

The top of this display is glued shut so you'll have a layer of protection if a curious youngster gets a hold of the sculpture. The top of the bulb has threads, so you can easily twist on the included magnetic stylus when the display is not in use.
